Dr. Barry Miller is the Director of Outreach and Business Development for the Virginia Tech Helmet Lab.
Our keynote speaker on equity in microtransportation, Sarah Batts. Sarah is Senior Vice President of Advancement of the Shepherd Center Foundation. She joined Shepherd Center in November 2016 and is responsible for setting development policy and leading the fundraising and volunteer teams in support of Shepherd’s mission.
Dr. Rupp is the Director of the Injury Prevention Research Center at Emory and an Associate Professor in the Emory Department of Emergency Medicine. His research focuses on innovative ways to collect and use data to promote injury prevention. His current research includes studies aimed at understanding the factors influencing injury in motor-vehicle crashes and to develop methods for surveillance of crashes involving vulnerable road users.

Day 1
To kick things off we’ll hear a few words from Emma Harrington, the Director of Injury Prevention and Education at Shepherd Center and Amanda Jackson, the Grant Planner for Georgia’s Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

Cheyanne has more than eight years of experience advocating for community-improving policies, building strong relationships, and streamlining processes to drive business efficiency. She values civic engagement and inclusive mobility. Cheyanne has a BS from Loyola University New Orleans, an MS from Full Sail University, and is a doctoral candidate of Business Administration at South University. She is a member of Delta Theta Sorority, Inc.
Day 2
Dr. Barry Miller is the Director of Outreach and Business Development for the Virginia Tech Helmet Lab. The Helmet Lab is a comprehensive Injury Biomechanics Lab but is certainly best known for its Helmet Ratings that were originally launched in 2011. Dr. Miller holds a PhD in Sport Biomechanics/Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and also an MBA in Finance from the Alfred Lerner School of Business at the University of Delaware.
Stephen Spring is Atlanta Bicycle Coalition's Education and Outreach Program Manager. He came to Atlanta via Austin, San Francisco, Portland, and Maine. Stephen has spent his life in urban public education serving students, teachers, and districts. Stephen earned a Master’s degree from the University of Maine in Educational Leadership.
On the journey from Kemberli’s childhood home on a cattle farm in Happy, TX to her current home in Midtown Atlanta, Kemberli has grown a deep love for cities. She has worked in regional planning, pedestrian advocacy, and most recently with the Atlanta City Studio. Now at the Atlanta Department of Transportation - her goal as Vision Zero Manager is to create safer streets that bring us joy – not tragedy.
Bob is a civil lawyer with extensive experience in developing and implementing public health and safety behavioral programs. His business and legal background serve as the foundation for numerous leadership roles in both non-governmental and governmental organizations which have taught Bob how to align disparate interests in transportation, public safety, public health, and land use to achieve public behavior changes that improve health outcomes.
